Schon wieder schnarcht mein Kater neben mir.

Wieder den Hype um ein grosses Sportereignis erfolgreich abgewehrt, nun sind wieder 2 Jahre Schonfrist.


Die beste Pizza der Welt wartet sicherlich irgendwo in Italien darauf von mir entdeckt und gegessen zu werden. Die Qualitaet von Tiefkuehlpizza hat in den letzten Jahren so extrem zugenommen, dass ich meist darauf zurueckgreife.

Es ist oft gar nicht so leicht sie sinnvoll und praegnant ins Englische zu uebersetzen, so eine deutsche Binsenweisheit.

Der Austausch von Postkarten aus aller Welt bei postcrossing hat mir zeitweise einen riesigen Spass gemacht - vielleicht sollte ich damit mal wieder anfangen!?

Meine eigene Faulheit ist die Wurzel allen Übels. Aber nach 30 Jahren kenn ich mich ja nun ganz gut.

Was das Wochenende angeht, heute Abend freue ich mich auf nix besonderes, hoechtens darauf die mueden Fuesse vom Tag in London hochlegen zu koennen, morgen habe ich einen Flohmarkt Besuch geplant und Sonntag möchte ich hmm, vielleicht nen Kuchen backen?! Mein Mann hat Nachtschicht - da steht dieses Wochenende nicht gerade viel an!

And another new addition to my collection that seems to have turned up on pretty much every other blog till now (and H&M has a similar one in stock at the moment) - this spacious faux leather bag with the studded bottom that looks like the famous one from Alexander Wang.

Again ebay, again only 17,99£, again I'm in love.
It looks sturdy and doesn't smell of plastic. The only downside is that the handles are relatively short so as soon as we are all wearing coats again this one will be handheld only but looking at the photo underneath that seems to be the whole point and not just a problem my chubby arms are causing.
It's versatile, stylish, easy to combine with all sorts of outfits and has loads of space - happy!

artistic differences

It started to happen a little while ago, around my 30st birthday to be precise...
To give you a bit of background information - once I was trying to keep up with modern music, reading the Rolling Stone and clicking my way through the amazon clips. I had a look on MTV and Viva and pretty much knew what was happening.
Not any more - I have had lost any interest in the music charts and current hypes. Now I still discover great artists from time to time but, apart from e.g. Adele or Michael Kiwanuka, they are hardly mainstream or very much up-to-date.
Although I would say that I generally love music and have a very extensive collection of cd's, I have never gotten into the whole download thing and use my iPod only for the camera.

Anyway, it started in H&M...I went in, wanted to take a quick look at the sale items and...I left again.
The song playing in store (I have no idea what it was and don't really need to find out) was so awful and distracting that I got fed up pretty quickly and went on the run.
Sounds excentric or pathetic to you?
I'm sure it is! But last week it happened again...5 shops, 5 times shitty music. You don't get me into the mood for a shopping haul like this.
So, am I an hyper-sensitive snob, getting really old, just strange or all of that?!
Please let me know when you lost touch with chart music and if you ever left a shop because of the appaling noise coiming from the speakers!

PS: To be fair - it has happened the other way round too in the past...that I browsed through the T-shirts section much longer then needed only because the song was that good.

and another B: a day in Bristol

During our short camping trip to Bath we spend a day in Bristol as well.
It was my first visit and my first impression wasn´t very good - the city seemed dirty and run down, the main shopping area just interchangeable with every other high street.
But then we walked to the harbour in order to visit the SS Great Britain, the first iron ship that crossed the atlantic built by the famous Isambard Brunel. From then on it improved a lot, the glorious sunny weather helped too!
So next time we are in the area we will definitely give Bristol another chance.

Minimal priced Baroque

I'm sure you have seen the famous Prada Minimal Baroque sunglasses pretty much everywhere by now. Even though I'm not really a big sunglasses collector they certainly drew my attention to them.

Thanks to the blogging world I have found this "version" on ebay for 6,99£ and so far I'm really impressed! Looks good, no sharp edges or scratches or anything and for that price!?
Not sure yet when I will be brave enough to wear this baby but right now I'm in love :-)

roadtrippin´...

...from the UK via France via Belgium to Germany. First stop: De Panne, a small Belgian town close to the French border. It has the the typical morbid, run down charme of the seaside but the beach is fantastic...and the patisseries are amazing as well and much cheaper than their French neighbours.
The Belgian coast is definitely underrated imho but have a look yourself!

Freitags-Füller 12

Die olympischen Spiele haben mich für 2 Wochen aus meinem geliebten London vertrieben und gehen mir ansonsten vollkommen am Arsch vorbei.

Meine Portion Frozen Yogurt vorhin war wahnsinnig teuer aber auch leicht und locker.

Es wäre ein Alptraum wieder mit schwerer Krankheit im engsten Umfeld konfrontiert zu werden. 

Ich sollte min. 3mal die Woche laufen gehen aber der Schweinehund hält mich davon ab.

Der Gedanke an die vielen Hochzeiten die mich nächstes Jahr im Spätsommer erwarten, erfüllt mich gleichzeitig mit großer Vorfreude als auch mit gewisser Panik.

Aufgewachsen bin ich in Wiesbaden in exakt demselben Haus in dem ich auch jetzt noch 50% meiner Zeit verbringe und war (bzw. bin immer noch) ein verwöhntes Einzelkind :-).

Was das Wochenende angeht, heute Abend freu(t)e ich mich auf eine Runde shoppen mit meinem Mann und danach Freunde in ihrem neu renovierten Haus zu besuchen und begrillt zu werden, morgen habe ich mit meiner neuen Kamera spielen und in Mainz auf den Wochenmarkt gehen bevor wir uns mit einer Freundin treffen, geplant und Sonntag möchte ich das Auto beladen für die Rückfahrt nach England - und chinesisch essen gehen!
