with: Annette Bening, Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo, Mia Wasikowska, etc.
story: Teenage son and daughter of a lesbian couple meet up with their biological father which brings the family into serious troubles.
what I liked: The acting! Wow. Always liked Annette Bening but here she is simply breathtaking. Julianne Moore too of course. I couldn't watch away for a single minute as every scene seemed so authentic, heartfelt and absolutely convincing. Caught myself smiling and making funny faces as I could understand every emotion in the film. Definitely a film to watch again...and indulge in the beautiful Californian landscape as well.
what I disliked: nothing major. Only Mark Ruffalos voice which sounds a bit like a godfather parody. And that in the last scene Laser is not wearing a seatbelt...
verdict: A wonderful film if you are after some brilliant acting and a simple but touching story that everyone can relate to in one way or another. Not sure why it is labelled as "comedy" though.
